Originally from Ireland, now happily settled in Cheshire, I’m over twenty years deep into a career in media, PR and communications that I genuinely love. As a sales communications strategist, I’ve worked with founders building something from scratch, leaders navigating scrutiny they weren’t prepared for, HR colleagues, NHS trusts, local government bodies, SMEs and authors managing communications from every angle, inside and out.

And the one thing all of that taught me?

The businesses and organisations that get remembered aren’t always the best at what they do. They’re the best at communicating it. And the ones that get remembered and get chosen? They’ve worked out how to turn that communication into sales.

Here’s the hill I will die on.

Communications isn’t a department. It’s the whole damn business. Every conversation, every piece of content, every media appearance, every crisis navigated, it all says something about who you are, and it either moves someone closer to buying from you or further away. The question is whether it’s saying what you actually intended.
